Professor Carlos Henrique de Brito Cruz – a keynote speaker at SGRI 2016
Professor Carlos Henrique de Brito Cruz, is the the Science Director for the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), and is also one of our two keynote speakers at the Sustainable Gas Research & Innovation 2016 conference.
Professor de Brito Cruz will speak on the 27th September about R&D and Innovation in São Paulo, Brazil.
The state of São Paulo has a vibrant system of public and private organization devotes to R&D.
Differently from what happens in the rest of Brazil, in São Paulo most of the R&D expenditures are made and executed by the business sector. A second relevant difference from what happens in the rest of Brazil is that the state funded expenditures are larger than the federal government expenditures, mainly because the state maintains three of the main research universities in Brazil (USP, Unicamp, UNESP) plus a network of mission oriented research institutes.
Brito will describe some of the programs operated by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) towards fostering more intense university-industry research collaborations and towards small business research.
